Born Melina Markovna Kunis on Dec.01, 1983, the raven-haired beauty moved to Los Angeles with her parents and younger sister, Raquel, at the age of 14. Their parents, Milena and Ricardo Acosta, were employees at their local walmart. Ricardo was a full time manager and Milena worked full time as a cashier, leaving their oldest daughter to help take care of her younger sister duringthe evening with their father. Melina was only seven years old when her little sister was born. Melina never felt jealous of the new family member, she saw the newborn as a friend to grow up with and a sister to take care of. She was discovered by a manager while performing in a play for the local theater.
Lying about her age, Acosta landed the career-breaking role of Willow Rosenburg on the sitcom “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” while still in high school; though the role required Mila to be at least eighteen, she was only fourteen at the time of her audition. Regardless, she was cast in the role of the friendly wiccan while their parents struggled to find a home where Mila would be working. Shortly after recieving that role she lended her distinct voice to animated television as the voice of Meg Griffin on the popular FOX series “Family Guy”. Her most popular role has been and always will be the loud-mouthed self involved Jackie Burkhart on “That 70’s Show”.
After receiving her high school diploma, Acosta soon branched out from her work on “70’s” by appearing in a number of films. She landed a leading role in the teen flick “Ever After”, starred in the comedy “Dan in Real Life”, and a supporting role in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” along with many others.
